Thomas Florez — Licensed Mental Health Practitioner

Thomas Florez

LIMHP · LADC · CSOTS

Thomas Florez has been serving Grand Island and the surrounding region since 2013, bringing over a decade of hands-on, clinical experience to the community. He holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from Doane University and maintains three active licenses, allowing him to treat a broad spectrum of complex behavioral, psychological, and addiction-related issues.

Before establishing Behavioral Counseling Solutions, Thomas worked extensively within community agencies, serving dual-diagnosis clients, navigating the court system, and working within specialized intervention programs. This background gave him a profound understanding of not just the clinical side of therapy, but the practical realities his clients face every day.

His approach is direct, deeply empathetic, and entirely tailored to the individual. He doesn’t believe in cookie-cutter therapy; he believes in utilizing evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care to give his clients tools that actually work.
